Mark's Campaign

My brothers and I are now gainfully employed by Archmage Irfax. Apparently they wish to construct a series of underground complexes within the Menador mountains. One will be accessible from Molthune, one accessible from Cheliax and the third (and most difficult to create) deep within the heart of the range. Our expertise with harnessing the forces of the elemental planes will undoubtedly help in this grand undertaking.

Irfax’s engineer, a dwarf called Aristoken will be at our service to advise in the more critical structural designs of the complexes. And it will be his main job to make the areas suitably livable.

The most astounding part of this endeavor is the method of travelling from one section to the other. According to Irfax, he has mastered the magical construction of a paired set of permanent teleport circles. I’m not sure that making travel between the borders so easily accomplished is such a good idea. But that is not the concern of our assignment. However, I will need to work closely with the Archmage and see if he will impart some of his knowledge.

Construction at the deep station, now called Waypoint will begin in the next couple weeks. Our rings will truly be tested to their limits, I am sure.

It is with great sadness and frustration that we found out the project has been placed on indefinite hold. Our private labs have been completed and expansion of the complex was just beginning its second stage. But as with any bi-political venture, it is rare indeed when both sides can agree for very long. We should count ourselves lucky that we were employed for such a time.

At some point in the future, my brothers and I must return and see if we can learn the secrets of Irfax’s unique teleportation magics.
